Howard Jones - Single. is the only Howard Jones album you'll ever need. HoJo was a founder of early '80s synth-pop, which was as easy to sing to as it was to dance to. The rhythms on this record pop like new wave corn kernels in heated oil, tempered by Jones's high-strung vocals extending over the top. Jones makes good use of the bright synth piano patches available during that time, especially during Things Can Only Get Better. No One Is to Blame is a solid ballad, just Jones and his keyboard. It's heartfelt and regretful-a little cheesy, but in a good way. Howard Jones, Soundtrack: Better Off Dead. I have a copy of this to sell but no idea of the value - can anyone help? Also have a demo tape Howard sent around as a live demo. Tracks include:Don't put these curses on meSay a little wordHurt the selfSomething Real All the above handwritten on the cassette cover and tape with Howard Jones signature (on both cover and cassette)

Can you send pics of the demo tape you have, and a price please Thanks in advance.

I would be really interested in these tapes. Please message me.

I actually have this cassette,Howard's mum Thelma gave me Howard's own copy of it.In return for Sending her a copy of it on one of my own tapes, which I obliged her by doing so.I built up a real "Bond" with Thelma she quickly realised I was a serious fan and even more serious collector.Just to mention this cassette became known affectionately as the Howard Jones, 'White- Tape' much sought after by collectors that even know of it's existence. The 2 tracks on the B-side Always Asking Questions and What can I Say we're not recorded in the Osborne Arms, the other 3 tracks were though. The 2 tracks Always...And What...say? Are actual studio recordings of which are 2 of the earliest and rarest recordings of these, though I have even earlier recordings from Howard's own 'front room. There is however at least 1 track I've not got or ever heard, but I do have the early lyrics to it..it's called 'Respect'If anyone has this or can help me,I might be able to sleep better at night,I've no doubt that had Thelma his mum still been around today,She's really missed by me, then she would have acquired it for me.I don't think even Howard knew of our great bond and she wrote so many letters to me in the 80s & 90's.Maybe if someone can tell Howard on my behalf I would be happy to drive to meet up if he himself would help me out with this track. His No:1 Steve Howard (Nottingham)I

Hi I used to run a record finding service for the HoJo fan club many years ago and like you got extremely rare stuff from Thelma and Cliff Farrant. My white tape has 9 tracks on it. 7 on side 1 and 2 on side 2. I also have never released demo tracks. such as Divine Paranoia and very early versions of his tracks.

what is that song on there called "risk"? I am not familiar with it

Recorded at the Osborne Arms in Lane End, High Wycombe I believe - a friend of mine who lived in Lane End used to have it.

Actually I've got that wrong he bought it when Howard Jones was playing at the Osborne Arms but I don't think it was recorded there.
